How can I apply for a VAT ID?

You can apply for a VAT ID in two ways. Either via the Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) or directly to the Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst).

📍 How to apply for a VAT ID at the Chamber of Commerce:

When your sole proprietorship is registered with the Chamber of Commerce, you will receive not only a VAT ID but also a Chamber of Commerce number. Moreover, you will then be officially registered in the trade register. In some cases, it is compulsory to register with the Chamber of Commerce.
